2nd Wednesday of Each Month
PFUMC in cooperation with local schools and Midwest Mission Distribution Center (M.M.D.C.), in Bloomington, provide backpack meals for students; while students may qualify for school meals at a free or reduced rate they may be left to fend for themselves for food on the weekends.
During the school year a few volunteers are needed to ride along to the M.M.D.C. to pick up the food items that will be used to pack a month’s supply of backpack meals. Upon returning to PFUMC, a varied age group of volunteers come to help pack shopping bags with the pre-packaged snacks and food items.
